Recently I needed Leica Camera AG to readjust a rangefinder camera and two lenses. In May of this year, the company returned to where it started its photographic business 100 years ago: to Wetzlar. A newly developed factory plant called ‘Leitz-Park’ now accomodates all the facilities for camera and lens assembly, customer care and repair service, ample space for exhibitions and sales activities and, last but not least, the Leitz Café in front of the main entrance.
During the 20 years I’ve known the company, Leica has always been very supportive and client oriented. However, although they were generous and lend me some gorgeous equipment to help me continue photographing a series I’ve been working on lately, I couldn’t resist taking a few shots of the world’s greatest lens manufactory with a lensless (pinhole) camera. Sorry Leica, no offence, I still love my ‘luxes 🙂
