Impressions of ‘Project Solaris’ @ Biennale Gelderland 14

Steinkamp_ProjectSolaris_20141108- (16 of 23)Last Saturday night during Reload Festival – the opening weekend of Biennale Gelderland 14 -, I joined a performance of Project Solaris by Hanneke de Jong en Jonas de Witte.  A group of performance artists took the audience on a guided tour along various objects and scenes in and around the venue, and invited them to reflect upon cognition, reality, and the difficulties of being connected to other people. Inspirational source of the project makers is Stanisław Lem‘s novel Solaris.

The performance took place at the Honigcomplex in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. The Honingcomplex is a former food factory, which recently was rededicated as a location for start-up business in mobility, gastronomy and the arts.

In this blog posting I’m presenting a couple of visual impressions of last Saturday’s performance. I might add some additional information lateron. For now I’d like to refer you to the links in the previous paragraph.Steinkamp_ProjectSolaris_20141108- (10 of 23)Steinkamp_ProjectSolaris_20141108- (1 of 23)Steinkamp_ProjectSolaris_20141108- (12 of 23)Steinkamp_ProjectSolaris_20141108- (7 of 23)Steinkamp_ProjectSolaris_20141108- (2 of 23)Steinkamp_ProjectSolaris_20141108- (11 of 23)Steinkamp_ProjectSolaris_20141108- (14 of 23) Steinkamp_ProjectSolaris_20141108- (13 of 23)Steinkamp_ProjectSolaris_20141108- (23 of 23) Steinkamp_ProjectSolaris_20141108- (15 of 23)Steinkamp_ProjectSolaris_20141108- (16 of 23)Steinkamp_ProjectSolaris_20141108- (22 of 23)Steinkamp_ProjectSolaris_20141108- (17 of 23)Steinkamp_ProjectSolaris_20141108- (18 of 23)
